Kids
The Academy of Foreign Languages teaches children of all ages, from infants to college students. We are proud of our kids - they are often the best students in class. The classroom atmosphere is relaxed and non-competitive, with each student working at his or her own pace. In the Mini Academy your child will be exposed to the sounds, rhythms, and rhymes of the language, learning basic vocabulary about themselves and their environment through games, songs, and role play. The teacher is there to recognize individual learning styles and help your child to blossom. A variety of learning tools, such as playing games native to the culture studied, helps with language acquisition. We encourage students to correspond with pen pals, writing in the language they are learning.
Fluency
Beginner - For those who desire to communicate in another language. Students will learn grammar and vocabulary achieving basic command of the language for a limited range of simple, routine, and familiar situations.
Intermediate - For those who want to expand their conversation level. Students will notably increase their vocabulary and grammar skills, will be able to absorb and process the general meaning of a conversation and respond using the material learned.
Advanced - For students who wish to converse with no hesitation. Students will be able to communicate competently and comfortably in many situations, will learn to use different manners of expression; initiate, sustain, and conclude increasingly complex and demanding conversations.
Fluent - For students whose goal is to be bilingual. This level is inclusive of reading, writing, and full understanding of the grammar structure; able to use the fine art of communicating by incorporating idioms, and customary expressions.
Kids Levels
Parent & Me - Come and enjoy learning a new language with your child... from 0 to 3 years. Starting here, you can assure bilingualism for your child.
Parent and Me - infant to 3
Mini Academy - ages 3 to 6
Primary Academy - ages 5 to 9
Junior Academy - ages 9 to 13
Senior Academy - ages 13 to 17

Adult Levels

Immersion Plus - your teacher will prepare you for your business trip or vacation. In addition to a crash course in the language, we will teach you the customs, history, interesting facts about the country you will be immersed in; where to go, what to see, how to get around, all the details to make your trip a smooth & stress-free experience. This class is customized to your specific travel needs.

For kids, mathematics and physics are 'like foreign languages'; therefore we have now added intense tutoring for both subjects.

A new program has been tested for the past six months: teaching two neo-Latin languages at the same time by starting with showing the similarities in grammar structure and roots. This program has been successful with both adults (currently coming for 1hr Spanish and 1 1/2 hr French) and kids (1/2 hr French and 1/2 hr Spanish). Please contact us with any questions.
